Josephine “Joe” Marie Turner

Josephine “Joe” Marie Turner, 84, Falls Creek, passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at Christ the King Manor in DuBois after a lengthy illness.

Born May 1, 1930, in Punxsutawney, she was a daughter of the late James T. and Elizabeth Reed Strano. She was married to Irvin C. Turner, who preceded her in death.

Josephine enjoyed playing the organ, listening to music, polkas, her pets and casinos.

Josephine is survived by four children: Mrs. Gary (Linda) Kasprzak of Tonawanda, N.Y.; Star Smiley of Falls Creek; Daniel Allen Frye of Florida; and Mrs. Joseph (Tamara “Tammy”) Missert of Tonawanda, N.Y.; two brothers, James T. Strano and wife Peggy of Morgan Town, W. Va., and Ronald Edward Strano and wife Jenny of Punxsutawney; five sisters: Rita Giest of Punxsutawney, Pauline Katus of Tonawanda, Betty Mallory of Punxsutawney, Mrs. Tom (Jean) Thompson of Punxsutawney and Mrs. Andrew (Rose) Meterko of Adrian;, eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Josephine was also predeceased by a sister, Delores Rishel.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Acacia Park in North Tonawanda, N.Y.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Leo Nedza Funeral Home.
