Joyce Henneman

Joyce Henneman, 88, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, December 25, 2021, in Marietta, OH.

She was born November 20, 1933, in Desire, PA, a daughter of the late Carl and Agnes (Caldwell) Palm.

On July 28, 1956, she married Chester A. Henneman, who preceded her in death on October 17, 2005.

Joyce was a homemaker and a pastor’s wife, often serving as a pianist and Bible study teacher.

She also worked in the office for Alcoa in New Kensington, PA.

Joyce and her husband pastored in the Church of the Nazarene throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio for 35 years until they retired in Punxsutawney in 1994.

She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Dawn R. Butler and her husband, Gordon, of Boca Raton, FL, and Debra K. Brown of Marietta, OH; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Lowmaster, of Punxsutawney; and a brother, Don Palm, and his wife, Winnie, of Sequim, WA.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sally McMillen; and two grandchildren, Jessica Gutberlet and Ashley Dale.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2021, and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, December 31, 2021, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, December 31, 2021, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
