Jule W. Marche Sr.

OI550805630_Marchephoto[1]Jule W. Marche Sr. age 81 of Bogey Run Road Brockport, PA; died on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center in Altoona.

Born in Brockport on August 12, 1933 he was the son of the late Theodore and Helen Hutchins Marche Sr.

He was married to Mary Reitz in December of 1953 and she survives. Retired, Jule had worked his whole life as a union millwright.

He was methodist by faith.

He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.

Jule was a past member of the Brockway Ambulance Association, where at one time he served as its president.

He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.

Jule also was a U.S. Army, Korean War Veteran where he served with Company E of the Seventh Calvary from 1950 to 1952.

He was discharged under the title “Light Weapons Infantry Leader of the Third Division.”

He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, two Combat Infantry Badges, National Defense – U.N. Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal. On November 11, 2013 he was presented by the City of Altoona a Proclamation on the 60th Anniversary of the end of the Korean War and was honored during the Altoona Veterans Day Parade.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a daughter: Denise (Ron) Dennis of Polk, PA; 3 Sons: Jule (Bonnie) Marche Jr. of West Middlesex, PA; Raymond and Robert Marche both of Brockport; 2 step daughters: Dorothy (Don) McCreery of Latrobe, PA; Cindy Marsh of Brockport; a step son: Theodore (Johnine) Marsh of DuBois; 2 brothers: Ted (Stella) Marche of Brandy Camp; Hank (Shirley) Marche of Huntingdon, PA; grandsons: Dustin, Darrin and Ryan Billock Sr; Raymond and Shawn Marche as well as numerous additional grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by brothers: Francis, James, Louis and Raymond Marche; sisters: Julia McMinn, Elizabeth Jonosky, Lorraine “Nook” Flinchum and a grandson Kevin Billock Jr.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, June 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. The funeral service will be on Thursday, June 11 at 11:00 A.M. also at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Felt officiating. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.

Full Military Honors will be accorded on Thursday morning at the funeral home by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion.
