June Dennis Bortle age 79 of 3rd Avenue Brockway, PA; died on April 26, 2021 at Christ the King Manor in DuBois.
Born on June 8, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA; she was the daughter of the late Nick and Helen Klemovich Dennis.
June was a graduate of Moon High School and Capital University where she obtained her Masters Degree in Education.
On June 22, 1963 she was married to Bennie V. Bortle and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2020.
Retired, June spent many years as a substitute teacher for the Brockway School District.
She was Lutheran by faith, and was a member of Who’s Who in Education.
She spent many years as a Leader and a Trainer in the Girl Scouts.
June also was a member of the Brockway Ambulance Service, Boy Scout Troop 40 and was a member of the Brockway Band Boosters.
She enjoyed teaching, being a Child Advocate, reading, collecting and Philanthropy.
June devoted her life to her family and those in need.
She was dedicated to helping children through scouting, teaching and working with the food pantry and CAPSEA.
She was passionate & caring and the world is a lesser place without her.
June is survived by 2 sons: James (Kathy) Bortle and David (Starr) Bortle; a grandson Nathan and his wife Lexi; a brother Dick and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service for both June and Bennie will be held on Saturday July 17 at 3:00 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway with Pastor Dave Nagele officiating.
