June E. Matson

Scan0007June E. Matson, 94, of New Bethlehem (formerly of Hawthorn) died Wednesday morning, March 23, 2016 at Edgewood Heights in New Bethlehem. Born June 7, 1921 in Hawthorn, she was the daughter of the late Ott and Myrtle (Hepler) Bish. She was married on February 28, 1943 to Paul L. Matson and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1982.

June was a member of the Hawthorn Calvary United Methodist Church and a life member of the Hawthorn Area Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by a son, Gerald  Matson and his wife Sharon of Raleigh, North Carolina, two daughters, Linda Sayers of Falls Creek and Joyce Ford and her husband Marty of Ellenton, Florida, eight grandchildren, Greg Sayers (Allison), Chris Sayers (Tracey), Shawn Sayers (Crystal), Gretchen Williams (Shane), Heather Reed (Jeremy), Krista Medlin (Mitch), Mark Bell (Mindy) and Steve Bell, seventeen great grandchildren, Jacob, Michael, Connor, Brittany, Anthony, Brianna, Katie, Kara, Nick, Kate, Tate, Gavin, Reese, Jordan, Josh, Broc and Brynn, a great great grandchild, Tripp Pyne.

Also surviving is a sister, Anna Frederick of Depew, New York, and a brother Carl Bish of Batavia, New York and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, three brothers, Darl Bish, Glenn Hepler and Jack Bish, four sisters, Mable Bish, Loretta Glaze and two infants, and a son-in-law, Gary Sayers.

Friends will be received, Sunday March 27, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 28, at the Hawthorn Calvary United Methodist Church with Pastor Jodie Smith officiating. Interment will be in Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville, Clarion County.
