Junior Achievement 5k Color Run Set for May 21 in New Bethlehem

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization that strives to give youth a promising future through their goal to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Local boards work to keep all programming free of charge for participating schools.

On Saturday, May 21, Junior Achievement will host a 5k Color Run in New Bethlehem. The run will utilize the Redbank Valley Trails Association’s trail starting in the public parking lot off of Hunter Way, between Wood Street and Lafayette Street. There will be temporary closures on Lafayette and Liberty Streets while the race is underway.

Registration will begin at 12:00 p.m. with the race/walk starting at 1:00 p.m. Race timing will be conducted by Miles of Smiles with medals awarded to the top three male and female competitors.

Registration is $15.00 for runners until May 2 and $20.00 after the pre-registration date. The fee for students and walkers is $10.00. Ages 12 and under are free.

Event proceeds will benefit Junior Achievement, which works with local schools to provide children kindergarten through 12th grade with the basics of financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness.

The event is sponsored by Community Action, Inc., Primary Health Network, and the Clarion Chamber of Commerce. New Bethlehem Borough and Redbank Valley Trails Association are supporting the event as well.
