‘Just for Jesus’ Resident Accused of Having Sexual Intercourse with Underage Teen in Brookville

Police Car BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A Brookville man – who is a resident of Just for Jesus – faces 12 criminal charges that include four felony charges of Unlawful Contact with a Minor for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a teenage girl at a public park in Brookville, Jefferson County.

According to court documents, 23-year-old Stanley G. Toy, of Brookville, faces the following charges:

  • 4 counts of Open Lewdness, Misdemeanor 3
  • 4 counts of Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1
  • 4 counts of Unlawful Contact With Minor – Open Lewdness, Felony 3

Brookville Borough Police Notified of Unlawful Relationship

According to a criminal complaint, the charges stem from a March 25, 2015, phone call to Brookville Borough Police Department from a known man who stated that he knew “a 17-year-old female who was in a relationship with a 23-year-old man named Stanley Toy.”

According to the known man, Toy has a Facebook account with pictures of himself and the 17-year-old girl kissing, the complaint states.

Brookville Borough Police Officer Turnbull looked up Stanley Toy on Facebook and allegedly observed four pictures of Toy and the known 17-year-old girl. In two of the pictures, they were allegedly kissing, the complaint indicates.

Officer Turnbull recognized Toy from prior incidents as a resident of 336 Madison Avenue, Brookville, in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, Just for Jesus, the complaint continues.

According to Toy’s Facebook he allegedly entered into a relationship on March 2, 2015, with the known 17-year-old girl, the complaint states.

Teen’s Guardian Contacted

Officer Turnbull contacted the known 17-year-old girl’s guardian, and she allegedly stated she was aware of the relationship and did not feel it was right that the girl was in this relationship, the complaint indicates.

The known girl’s guardian told Officer Turnbull that the girl could be found at EUM church located in Brookville Borough. When Officer Turnbull arrived at the EUM church, volunteers at the group stated that the known girl comes in later, around 7:00 p.m. A friend of the known girl said to check at Walter Dick Park for her, according to the complaint.

Police Allegedly Observe Toy with Teen

While on the way to Walter Dick Park, which is located in Brookville Borough, Officer Turnbull observed a male and female at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Pickering Street matching the description and photos of the couple, the complaint continues.

Officer Turnbull spoke with the male, confirming that he was Stanley Toy and asked him to come to the police station. When Toy was told what the situation was about, the known girl allegedly stated that she had turned 18 today, the complaint states.

Toy agreed to come to the police station and was patted down for weapons before entering into the cruiser. He was read his Miranda Rights at 7:09 p.m. prior to questioning and signed both forms, the complaint indicates.

Toy Questioned at Brookville Borough Police Station

When Toy stated that he did not know the girl was 17, Officer Turnbull asked him to log into his Facebook and pull up the girl’s Facebook page. On Facebook, her date of birth is shown, making her 17 years of age, the complaint continues.

Toy Gives Written Statement, Allegedly Admits to Having Sexual Intercourse with Teen

Toy allegedly admitted to Officer Turnbull that he had sexual intercourse with the known girl at Walter Dick Park under the Snack Bar. Toy gave a written and signed statement, according to the complaint.

The statement indicates Toy did not know she was 17 and that she had told him that she was 18 years of age. He allegedly did not have a reason why he did not ask for an ID after seeing she was 17 on Facebook and why he left before ever meeting her guardian at EUM church.

Officer Turnbull Questions Teen; Teen Gives Written Statement

Officer Turnbull asked the known girl’s guardian to bring her to the station. She was read her Miranda Rights prior to speaking and signing forms. She initially stated that she and Toy only hung out and talked, according to the complaint.

After showing the girl pictures of her and Toy kissing, she stated that they had kissed a few times, the complaint continues.

The girl wrote a statement omitting sexual involvement with Toy, the complaint indicates.

Officer Turnbull informed the girl that Toy had put in his statement of their sexual encounters, and the known girl then allegedly stated that they had sexual intercourse a few times. She did not wish to add that part to her statement and ended the interview after signing her statement, according to the complaint.

Police Initiate Follow Up Interview with Toy

During the follow up interview, Toy allegedly stated that on March 6, 2015, via Facebook messaging, the girl’s relative informed him that she was 17 years of age and to stay away from her. Toy allegedly showed Officer Turnbull the message, the complaint states.

Toy and the known girl were told not to contact each other, the complaint indicates.

Toy Awaits Preliminary Hearing

With the statements allegedly acknowledging that Toy and the girl had kissed and had sexual intercourse, charges were filed on March 27, 2015.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on May 12 in front of Judge Gregory M Bazylak.
