CLARION, Pa. – There has been a change at the top and at the bottom of the Sept. 14 First Commonwealth Bank/D9Sports.com District 9 Top 10 Football Rankings with Karns City taking over the top spot and Moniteau entering the rankings for the first time at No. 10.
The Gremlins are the new No. 1 team bumping up one spot from second after previous No. 1 DuBois fell 36-35 in overtime at home to Conneaut. That loss dropped the Beavers to No. 3 with Clarion also jumping one spot from No. 3 to No. 2 setting up a showdown Friday night in Karns City between the top two ranked teams.
Moniteau, meanwhile, jumps into the rankings at No. 10 after previous No. 10, St. Marys, lost big to Karns City. Also, Clearfield fell for the second time in the rankings dropping from No. 5 to No. 9 after a loss to Central-Martinsburg pushed the Bison to 1-2, their first 1-2 start since 2007.
