Kathleen “Cass” Margianne Clark

Clark KathleenKathleen “Cass” Margianne Clark, 71, of Punxsutawney passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 24, 2015 after a gallant battle with cancer.

She was surrounded by her family when she was called home to Heaven. Cass was born on June 3, 1944, in Olean, NY a daughter of the late James M. and Nadyne R. (McGavish) Williams.

Cass married her loving husband Martin Daniel Clark of nearly 48 years on November 30, 1967. Martin survives.

Besides keeping an immaculate home, Cass helped her husband with the family business, MC Alarms.

She was a woman of true character always keeping busy maintaining the household, working the family business, and raising children. No grass ever grew under her feet.

Although she only had three of her own children, she is credited with raising eleven as her home was always filled to the rafters with the laughter and the hustle bustle of her children, her nieces, and her nephews. This is not to mention her four beautiful grandchildren added to the mix further filling her home to capacity.

Her first grandchild called her “Nina”; henceforth, she was affectionately referred to as “Nin” by her entire family, a nickname she adored.

Despite her house bursting at the seams (by her choosing), Cass thrived on giving her love and never grew weary of the enormity of caring for the family she cherished. Cass also “really” loved to shop especially for the “kiddos” in her life and always gave generously from the depths of her kind and warm heart.

When not inundated with her busy life style, she treasured escaping to her winter home in Florida and traveling to Maine to see the leaves changing with the season.

A faithful woman, she was also a member of the Covode United Methodist Church.

Cass was a kind and gentle woman whose love for her husband and family was tremendous. She will be so dearly missed by so many.

Cass is survived by her loving husband Martin; her son Michael J. Clark of Punxsutawney; her two daughters, Kathleen Lynn Hudock of Olean, NY and Melissa Cooper of St, Petersburg, FL. “Cassie” as she was known by her sisters is also survived by a sister, Rebecca L. DaPolito of Olean, NY and four beautiful grandchildren, Michael C. Clark, Kayla and R.J. Weaver, and Stephen Clark, the first grandchild referred to grandma as “Nina” which she was then lovingly referred to as “Nin” by her entire family.

In addition to her parents, James and Nadyne Williams, Cass was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Robert Keller; two sisters, Cynthia Cecala and Bonnie Butchello, and one grandson, Mark Hudock.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc of Punxsutawney.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Punxsutawney Christian School.
