Kathryn Y. “Kay” DeMott

Kathryn Y. “Kay” DeMott, 97, of Lititz, PA formerly of Lancaster, PA passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Landis Homes.

She was the wife of Joseph G. DeMott to whom she was married for 67 years.

Born in Punxsutawney, PA she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mable (Butera) Salvaggio. Mrs. DeMott worked for Punxsutawney Hardware Company for many years as their secretary and book keeper. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics and bargain shopping. Kay was formerly a volunteer for the Red Cross at St. Joseph Hospital of Lancaster. She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a sister-in-law Dorothy Salvaggio; nieces Roseann Buchanan Cox, Diann Luff, Joan Guarnieri, Cherie Carter and nephew David Salvaggio and wife Marie. Also surviving her are several great-nieces and nephews and her special canine friend Bindi.

Kay was preceded in death by her sister Antoinette Guaraieri and brothers Anthony and Frank Salvaggio.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 11AM from St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd. Lancaster, PA 17601.

Interment will be held in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster, PA.
