Kenneth J. Statler

Kenneth J. Statler, age 91, a long time Penn Avenue Brockway, PA, resident, currently a resident at Highland View Health Care in Brockway died on Saturday December 19, 2020.

Born on April 3, 1929, in Moorsville, West Virginia, he was the son of the late John G. and Edna Roupe Statler. On October 2, 1951, he married his loving wife of 69 years, Marjorie (Davis) Statler who preceded him in death on October 21, 2020.

Retired, Ken was employed at Brockway Glass/Owens-Illinois for 34 years as Paymaster. He served as President of the Kiwanis Club in Brockway and later as director of the Brockway Area Kaimanns. Ken also served on the Brockway Area School Board, President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in DuBois and on the board of the Mengle Memorial Library.

He volunteered for the blood mobile, Meals on Wheels, and the Brockway Grade School Wrestling Team. He was a member of the Moorhead United Methodist Church in Brockway. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and board games.

Ken was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. He is survived by a son, Dr. Ronald Statler (Janet Matson) of DuBois, PA; a brother, Richard (Marjorie) Statler of Amherst, Ohio; sisters, Mary (William ) Walters of Geneva, Ohio, Jane (William) Mooney of Vermilion, Ohio; a grandson, Adam (Ellie) Statler of DuBois; and three granddaughters, Angela (Kenny) Mitchell, Hilliary (Deek) Marshall, and Ashley (Lucas) Sheaffer. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene (Bub) Whelpley; 3 brothers, Virgil, Hubert, and Robert Statler; 5 sisters, Loretta Willis, Irene Phillips, Katherine Brand, Betty Folkins, and an infant sister, Helen Statler.

There will be no public visitation. A private Memorial Service will be held with Rev. Terry Felt officiating. Burial will be in the Beechwoods Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Moorhead United Methodist Church PO Box 233 Brockway, PA 15824 or Mengle Memorial Library 324 Main Street Brockway, PA 15824.
