Kenneth Scott Hynds

Hynds KennethKenneth Scott Hynds age 51 of Main Street Brockway, PA; died on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his residence.

Born in DuBois on October 17, 1963, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Mary “Phyliss” Billock Hynds. He was married to Deborah Preston on November 21, 1991 and she survives.

Retired, Kenny had worked in the past as a cook at the Ponderosa and at Pappy’s restaurants in DuBois, at Delp Drilling and finally he retired from Owens-Brockway Glass where he worked as a palletizer. He was Methodist by faith.

Kenny was a member of the V.F.W. Post #7252 where he also became the first male member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary; the Brockport Army/Navy Club; and the S.O.I. Club in Brockway.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, building and flying model rockets and listening to the scanner. Kenny also was an avid veterans rights advocate.

In addition to his wife Debi, he is also survived by 4 sons: Brian (Kerry) Hynds of Stump Creek, PA; Chad Hynds and his girlfriend Dayna of Reynoldsville; Kennan Hynds of Brockway and Kyle Hynds and his girlfriend Cameron also of Brockway; 1 brother: Rick (Sharon) Hynds of Arizona City, AZ; a grandson: Cayden Hynds and a granddaughter: Callie Hynds; 2 nieces: Renee Hynds of Tucson, AZ; Ashley Hynds of Casa Grande, AZ and a great niece Alina Hynds also of Arizona City, AZ.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be on Friday, September 25 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 26 at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home, with Pastor David Nagele officiating. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the V.F.W. Post #7252 Building Fund or the Brockway Volunteer Hose Company.
