Kerith Strano Taylor Announces Candidacy for U.S. Congress in Pennsylvania’s 5th District

kerithST-lawfirmBROOKVILLE, Pa. – Kerith Strano Taylor, a family law attorney, announced she is running for the office of Representative in the United State Congress for Pennsylvania’s Fifth District.

A gathering of bi-partisan supporters, media, and family came out on a snowy February morning for Kerith Strano Taylor’s campaign announcement.

“I am humbled by the presence of so many supporters that are here today. I am filled with great excitement and a sense of responsibility as I announce my candidacy for the office of Representative in the United States Congress of Pennsylvania’s Fifth Congressional District,” said Strano Taylor.

A graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and George Mason School of Law, Strano Taylor returned to her hometown of Brookville and opened her own law firm where she practices family law.

Through her professional work and volunteer efforts, Kerith has become known throughout the Commonwealth as a champion for children and families. Her solid reputation has earned her a seat at many different policy making tables. Since 2004, Kerith has served as Guardian ad Litem for Jefferson County, representing children who find themselves in the foster care system.

Strano Taylor also holds elected positions. She serves as President of the Brookville Area School Board and was appointed to the Federal Relations Network, a national advocacy organization that works to improve education policy.

Strano Taylor cited the issues of national debt, policy and political gridlock, education, and sustainability among those to be addressed throughout her candidacy and service as Congresswomen.

“I am a concerned citizen that sees a fundamental lack of leadership in Pennsylvania’s Fifth Congressional District and in Washington. I will bring a new perspective to Congress. Negotiation works when the needs of the people are put first. As a small business owner, I understand the need for sound fiscal judgment, a balanced budget, and providing a stable and open environment that enables growth for employees and businesses,” said Strano Taylor.

As an advocate for children and families, Strano Taylor sees first-hand the impact of a lagging economy on the youngest in our society.

Strano Taylor concluded the rally saying, “I believe Pennsylvania and the Nation are still a place of opportunity and that brighter days are ahead of us. Together, we can strengthen our communities and prepare the next generation for success.”
