L. Reid Henry

L. Reid Henry, 91, of Rt. 322, Brookville, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Jefferson Manor, Brookville, Pa.

Born October 16, 1921, in Corsica, Pa., he was the son of Burt Henry and Hannah Smith Henry.

He was married to Claire Esther Brocious, who survives.

He was a U.S. Veteran of WWII with the US Army, American Theater.

He worked as a rural mail carrier for the Brookville Post Office, the Brookville route, a self-employed truck driver, and as the Pinecreek Twp. Supervisor.

He was a member of the FOE #983 in Brookville, Pa., the Reynoldsville Elks, the Pinecreek Vol. Fire Dept. for 57 years, and the American Bowling Congress.

He enjoyed hunting, golf, bowling, and little league baseball.

He is survived by two sons, Les R. Henry of Youngstown, Ohio and Dennis L. Henry (Claudia) of Brookville, Pa.; two daughters, Joyce L. Trayer of Youngsville, PA and Sharon “Shari” K. Hinderliter (Wade) of Mayport, PA.

He is also survived by two brothers, Bob Henry (Paige) of Brookville, Pa. and Dean Henry (Lois) of Archdale, NC; and two sisters, Helen Crooks of Brookville, Pa. and Donna Henry of DuBois, Pa.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Kenneth Henry, and one great-grandson, Bryce Kunselman.

Visitation hours are on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, Pa.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at McKinney Funeral Home with The Rev. Jerome F. Kennedy officiating.

Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville, Pa.
