Laurel Festival Continues with Hometown Heroes Day

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Today is all about honoring our local heroes at the Brookville Laurel Festival.

The schedule of events for today includes:

  • 1:00 p.m. – Dedication of Courthouse Monument
  • 5:00 p.m. – Dedication of the Pickering St. Bridge
  • 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. – “The Belle Tones” at the Town Square

The week continues with the popular Sidewalk Sale and Manufacturing Tours, with free parking available downtown, on Friday.

The Sidewalk Sales begin at 8:00 a.m. There will also be a quilt show at the social room of Brookville Fire Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., as well as the d’Argy Family’s annual “Movie on Main Street,” which is free to the public and will begin at dusk. At the end of the night, “Stillwater Band” will be playing at the Town Square.

Saturday is the day of the Grand Parade and Fireworks, as well as EMS Day.

Following the parade, “Billy and the Neptunes” will take the stage at the Town Square, and the Firemen’s Games will begin. Finally, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., “Against the Grain” will play before the blast off of the Grand Fireworks display at 10:00 p.m.

The big Autorama and Sporting Day is on Sunday.

The Autorama will be held on Main Street from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., rain or shine. Sunday will also include a new weight-lifting tournament in front of the YMCA at 11:00 a.m. and a new Home Run Derby at 1:00 p.m. at McKinley Field. The Duck float begins at 2:00 p.m. at the Purple Heart Bridge and there will also be a corn hole tournament beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Town Square.
