Lavern H. Miller

Lavern H. Miller, 93, of Rimersburg, passed away at the Clarview Nursing Home on the evening of February 23, 2017 the same day of his wife’s passing.

He was born on June 13, 1923 on Beautiful Look Out in Armstrong County.

Lavern was married in May of 1947 to Dorothy Himes and they would have celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary this May.

He grew up as a farmer, and as a young man he dug graves at the Mount Zion Cemetery, he later worked for New Bethlehem Tile, and lastly worked at the C & K Coal Company where he retired as a Tipple Operating Assistant.

Lavern attended the Baker Street Church of God in Rimersburg.

He was proud of the fact that he built both of the houses that he lived in.

Lavern enjoyed playing with his Cub Cadets.

He is survived by his two children, Judy Montgomery and her husband Robert of Colorado and Larry Miller and his wife Terry of Erie, and his two grandchildren, Brendan Montgomery of Colorado and Mark Miller of Monaca.

Lavern was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the Burns Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. in Rimersburg.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. for both Lavern and Dorothy on Monday, February 27, 2017 in the Funeral Home with Rev. John Milliron, pastor of the Baker Street Church of God in Rimersburg.

Interment will be held in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
