Lavina E. Mohney

Lavina E. Mohney, 84, of 8764 Route 322, Reynoldsville, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at her home.

Born Dec. 2, 1930, in Venus, she was a daughter of the late Austin and Ina Fox Faller. She was married to Walter M. Mohney Jr. July 25, 1952. He preceded her in death Nov. 16, 2004.

Lavina was a 1949 graduate of Shippenville High School. She was a former employee of Cameron Manufacturing of Reynoldsville and retired from Brockway Glass.

Lavina was a foster parent and also hosted fresh air children from New York City for 20 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post 392 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon M. (Thomas) Wallace of DuBois; two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ben) DeLarme and Hannah Wallace, both of DuBois; a brother, Gerald (Connie) Faller of Franklin; and six sisters: Mildred (Delmar) Sharrar of Oil City, Dorothy (Arnold) Sharrar of Fertigs, Helen (Robert) King of Venus, Beatrice (Eugene) Steer of Venus, Ann (Lee) Irwin of Oil City, Mary (Eugene) Amsler of Venus.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, James, John and George Faller and one sister, Geraldine Faller.

At Lavina’s request, there will be no viewing or services. Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice .

Arrangements are under the direction of the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home, Reynoldsville.
