Car Crashes into Tree in Washington Township; Driver Escapes Injury

state_policeWASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say a one-car crash occurred early Thursday morning on Airport Road, west of Doane Drive, in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, around 2:05 a.m. on June 9, 37-year-old Justin C. Stark, of Leeper, was traveling west on Airport Road when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway.

Police say Stark’s 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt then exited the roadway to the north and struck a ditch with its passenger’s front side. The vehicle continued to travel east along the ditch and impacted a tree with its passenger’s front bumper, causing major damage to the front of the vehicle. The vehicle came to a final rest 10 feet off the roadway.

Stark was using a seat belt during the accident and was not injured.

He was charged with driving while his license was suspended/revoked, according to police.
