Leanna Irene (Moore) Aharrah

Aharrah, Leanna Obit PictureLeanna Irene (Moore) Aharrah, age 80, of Sigel PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2016, as a resident of the Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA.

She was born on May 6, 1936, to the late Leonard and Martha (Snyder) Moore in Reynoldsville, PA. On August 24, 1957, she married Lawrence “Larry” A. Aharrah in Reynoldsville, PA; Larry survives her.

She worked for Deposit Bank for a number of years and retired as Head Teller. Leanna was a member of the Edeburn United Methodist Church and the Heath Township Sportsman Club. She enjoyed planting her flower gardens and canning the foods that Larry would grow for them. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and reading. Leanna and Larry traveled the world together, covering the United States, Europe, Australia, and many other places; she loved being able to go. More than anything else, she loved her family and they were by far the most important aspect of her life.

The Aharrah family wants to thank the Jefferson Manor, especially the caretakers of Jefferson Street, for the excellent love, care, and support that they provided to Leanna while she was a guest; your tenderness helped to make a hard time much easier.

In addition to her husband Larry, Leanna is survived by 3 children; Lon (Carole) Aharrah, of Brookville, PA; Lindee Aharrah of Canisteo, NY; Loye Aharrah of Sigel, PA; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her dear Aunt Dode.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, June 5, 2016, from 2-4 and 6-8pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, Ltd., 345 Main St., Brookville PA, 15825. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016, also at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, beginning at 11:00am. Interment will take place at the Mount Tabor Cemetery in Eldred Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Edeburn United Methodist Church, Pine Run Rd., Heath, PA, 15860, or to the American Heart Association, 823 Filmore Ave. Erie, PA, 16505.
