Leon D. Kriner

Leon D. Kriner, Age 89 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.

Born on May 2, 1932 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Ira C. & Mary C. (Weber) Kriner.

On October 22, 1951, he married his wife of 70 years, Hazel (Delp) Kriner. She survives.

Leon was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served in the Korean War.

Leon retired from the Jefferson County Vocational Technical School as a data processing teacher after 19 years of service.

Previous to that, he had worked for the DuBois Area School District and Clearfield Vo Tech. He also owned and operated his own family beef farm.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where he was active in church affairs, was a member of Pennsylvania Wildlife Habitat Unlimited where he had served as Treasurer, and was active in the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau at both the county and state level. Leon also enjoyed hunting and reading.

Leon is survived by a son (Dale A. Kriner of DuBois, PA), a daughter (Amy Kriner and her husband Scott Ecelberger of Woodbine, MD), 2 grandchildren (Katrina Fusco and Kalan Kriner), and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother (Ronald Kriner) and his daughter in law (Grace Kriner).

There will be no public visitation and a funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
