LeRoy “Choug” Russell Timblin

LeRoy “Choug” Russell Timblin, 90, of Glen Campbell, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born March 10, 1926 in Rossiter, a son of Russell and Alma Olive (Long) Timblin.

On December 31, 1952 he married his beautiful wife, Mary Louise “Sis” (Cameron) Timblin. She survives him.

Mr. Timblin is a US Army veteran and served as a corporal in the Army during WWII. Following his time in the military, he worked as a logcutter at Neal Brother’s/DeJohn’s Sawmill in the Commodore Area.

In his younger days, LeRoy enjoyed farming. He previously enjoyed woodworking and hunting.

In addition to his wife, “Sis”; surviving relatives include two daughters, Cynthia Carol and husband Richard of Rossiter; Candice Giglliotti and husband Ernest of Greensburg; one son, Kenneth Timblin and wife Ruth Ann of Rossiter; seven grandchildren, Hope Martin; Kylie Jones; Megan Chong; Brooke Hack; Tyler Gigliotti; Seth Timblin; and Morgan Timblin; ten great grandchildren, Alexis, Austin and Mackenzie Martin; Tatelyn and Addyson Jones; Hayden Chong; Noah and Aiden Hack; Brady and Grody Gigliotti; and one sister, Olive Pifer of Reynoldsville.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Robert, Warren, and Donald Timblin; and three sisters, LaVera Miller; Helen Deahl; and Tharon Spotts.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Rossiter.
