Linda Galbraith King

Linda Galbraith King, age 67, of Walnut Street in Brookville, Pa., passed away during the morning hours of Monday, October 10, 2016, at her home.

Linda was born on October 23, 1948, in Brookville, Pa.

She is the daughter of Don C. Galbraith, who preceded her in passing, and Maxine (Hindman) Galbraith who survives her and resides in Brookville, Pa.

On October 25, 1968, she married Kenneth S. King at the Brookville Presbyterian Church; in a few short weeks they were to celebrate 48 years of love, friendship, and working side by side in a successful marriage.

Linda worked whole heartedly at Galbraith Furniture for over 30 years; a business legacy that she helped carry forward from her father.

Linda was a Christian woman that was able to showcase her values best when interacting with customers and members of our tiny community. She liked people and recently she joined the Firemen’s Club in Brookville, PA. She was good at helping others and always had a smiling face when she came in contact with other people.

Despite her ability to make people around her feel comfortable, she was a private person.

She loved to read and work in her garden. She loved to travel and together with her husband Ken, they traveled to many places throughout the world.

She was drawn to the outdoors and loved participating in activities for all seasons including hiking, camping, bike riding, backpacking, canoeing, and skiing.

Her contagious smile and loving personality will be missed on Main Street, but remembered lovingly by those who knew her best.

In addition to her mother and husband, Linda is survived by one son; Brian G. (Jeannie) King of Summerville, Pa.; and one brother; Dave (Lori) Galbraith of Brookville, Pa.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by one sister, Judy Galbraith.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, Pa., 15825.

A family service will be held privately at their convenience.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Redbank Valley Trails Association, 301 Broad St., New Bethlehem, PA, 16242, or to the Brookville YMCA, 15 Main St., Brookville, Pa., 15825.
