Lindy L. Davis 87, of Summerville, PA, died Thursday July 16, 2015, surrounded by family at Penn Highlands Hospital in Brookville.
Born March 25, 1928, in Baxter, PA., he was the son of the late Clyde B. and Mildred C. Knapp Davis.
Lindy attended school at Coder. He was married to Barbara M. Hughes on June 2, 1948 in DuBois, PA. Lindy was employed at Glen Gery Brick Factory as a manufacturing foreman for 42 years until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Summerville. Lindy enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Lindy is survived by his wife Barbara of Summerville, two daughters; Janice L. (Donald J.) Hughey of Heathville, Rita D. Matey of Summerville, a brother; Delbert Davis of Corsica, thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Along with his parents Lindy is preceded in death by a son Dennis L. Davis in 2015, six brothers; Jim, Henry, Ralph, Norm, Leroy, and Max Davis, a sister Charlotte Ishman. a half sister Anna Hanley, and a son-in-law Richard L. Matey.
His family will receive friends on Sunday July 19, 2015 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 at the Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad St. and First Ave., Summerville. The funeral service will be held at the Church of Christ in Summerville on Monday July 20, 2015 at 11 am with Pastor Randy Matheny officiating.
Per the family’s request, memorial donations may be made to charity of one’s choice.
Interment will be in the Cedarview Memorial Park Cemetery in Clarion Twp., Clarion County, PA.
