BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A Jefferson County couple will spend 30 to 60 years in state prison for sex crimes against a toddler.

According to online court documents, Kevin Kight, 43, of Punxsutawney, and his ex-wife –Rebecca Gardner, of Indiana – were each sentenced to 30 to 60 years by Jefferson County President Judge John Foradora.

It was also determined that Kight is regarded as a sexually violent predator under Megan’s Law.

A Facebook post by Jeff Burkett Jefferson County District Attorney stated, “We take child sexual abuse seriously in this county. This couple got 30-60 years on a plea agreement….the same sentence that Jerry Sandusky got after a hotly contested trial!”

In November, Kight pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault, solicitation rape of a child, solicitation disseminate child porn, possession of child porn, and other related charges.

Gardner pleaded guilty to photographing sexual acts, dissemination of photographs, and other charges related to the case.

In December of 2015, Punxsutawney-based State Police was assigned to conduct an investigation involving Kight concerning allegations he had been receiving nude photographs.

The complaint states that Gardner sent several nude photos of her daughter to Kight.

Kight allegedly admitted to the following crimes:

• There are “hundreds” of photographs on his computer.

• He had underwear in his possession.

• He identified several nude photographs seized from his residence.

• He confirmed he and Rebecca Gardner exchanged Facebook messages of a planned encounter with the child that was scheduled to take place on or about December 16, 2015, at his residence for the purpose of a sexual intercourse. He admitted the encounter did not take place because of his arrest.
