The Rebecca M. Arthurs Memorial Library in Brookville, the Mengle Memorial Library in Brockway, and the Punxsutawney Memorial Library are all wrapping up their summer programming and getting ready for fall.

The Rebecca M. Arthurs Memorial Library and the Mengle Memorial Library wrapped up their Summer Reading Quest programs the first week of August while the Punxsutawney Memorial Library finished theirs up just last week with special parties for the participants in different age groups.

Now, with September fast approaching, planning for fall programming is picking up speed.

According to Janine Strohm, Director at the Rebecca M. Arthurs Memorial Library, they will be hosting a Learning Center Kick-Off Party from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on September 10 for a new tutoring program at the library.

STEM Saturdays will also begin again in Brookville on September 12 and will run from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month.

Brookville’s regularly scheduled children’s programs will continue, with the Tiny Tots programs on at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays and the Hands-on Storytime at 10:30 a.m. on Thursdays.

The Young Writers Group, for ages 12 to 18, will meet at 3:45 p.m. on Thursdays and submissions for the Young Writers’ Short Story Contest are due September 28. Additional details for all of their programs are available through their Facebook page, or by calling the library.

Jessica Church, Director of the Punxsutawney Memorial Library, noted they currently have registration open for their fall series of youth programs. These programs offer opportunities for children and youth to come together in the local library and participate in a whole range of different activities throughout the year.

Registration is open now, and programming will begin the week of October 7 and run through the week of December 9. All of the programs are free, and more information will be made available through the Punxsutawney Memorial Library Facebook page.

According to Church, Punxsutawney also has Storytime for all ages at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, as well as a monthly book club for adults. They will also be scheduling computer classes, other classes, and special events, which will all be announced at a later time.

The Mengle Memorial Library in Brockway currently has registration open for a Kindergarten bus trip on Thursday, August 22.

They will also be hosting a 123 Program, a Kids’ Building Challenge, and continuing Tech Tuesdays. More details are available through the Mengle Memorial Library Facebook page or by calling or stopping in at the library.
