PUNXSUTAWNEY BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Criminal charges have been filed against a local man accused of threatening a victim with a baseball bat.
Court documents indicate the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 22-year-old Broc N. Marche, of Brockway.
According to a criminal complaint, around 4:00 p.m. on August 14, Punxsutawney Borough Police were dispatched to a residence on Foundry Street for a report of an assault.
According to the complaint, a known male victim told police that Broc Marche had threatened to “beat him with a baseball bat.”
The victim reportedly stated Marche also made other threats involving harming him with a baseball bat. He also provided police with a video of the incident.
The video showed Marche standing on the sidewalk in front of the victim’s home threatening the victim with a baseball bat, the complaint indicates.
In the video, there were also reportedly several other people trying to hold Marche back and taking the baseball bat from him.
When police spoke to March, he told them that the victim “records them when they are outside, and he is tired of it.” He also reportedly stated the victim laughed at him and said he “just had enough,” according to the complaint.
One first-degree misdemeanor count of Terroristic Threats With Intent to Terrorize Another was filed against Marche through Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock’s office on August 30.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on September 21 with Judge Mizerock presiding.
