ROSE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A local man escaped injury after his vehicle slammed into a utility pole in Rose Township Monday evening.
According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, the crash occurred at 7:33 p.m. on Monday, November 20, on State Route 28 in Rose Township, Jefferson County.
Police say 30-year-old Jacob R. Cieleski, of Punxsutawney, was traveling north in a 2012 Ford Fiesta when two deer entered the roadway from the left side.
Cieleski swerved in an attempt to avoid the deer and subsequently traveled across the center lines and southbound lane.
The vehicle ultimately struck a utility pole head-on, resulting in heavy front end damage.
Cieleski was using a seat belt and was not injured.
According to police, no citations were filed.
