In a second related case, the following charges against Kerestesy were also waived on December 5:

– Terroristic Threats With Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

The charges have all been transferred to the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas.

Unable to post $25,000.00 (10%) monetary bail, Kerestesy remains lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

The charges stem from two incidents that occurred in November.

According to a criminal complaint, around 6:38 a.m. on November 12, a known victim called to report Frank A. Kerestesy was intoxicated and had threatened to kill him.

The victim alleged that Kerestesy was “out of control” and stated he believed Kerestesy was going to kill him.

According to the complaint, the victim exited the residence and drove to the police station. Officer Andrekovich, of the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department, then contacted Mental Health, who sent a delegate to the residence to evaluate Kerestesy.

The complaint notes the delegate signed a 302 warrant for Kerestesy, which was then served by a constable.

The victim was also given information to obtain a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order against Kerestesy.

Kerestesy was transported to DuBois Regional Medical center for treatment.

According to a second complaint, Officer Winfield, of the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department, was dispatched to a residence on Lane Avenue for a report of a domestic incident between Kerestesy and the victim on November 22.

According to the complaint, the victim reported that Kerestesy had been dropped off at the residence earlier that day and began drinking again and making the same threats as in the previous incident.

The victim reported that during the previous incident, Kerestesy threatened to kill him and another man and grabbed a hammer and held it as if he was going to strike the victim with it. He went on to report that after being released from the hospital, Kerestesy returned to the residence and began making threats again.

The complaint notes the victim stated he believes Kerestesy is unwell, and also believes Kerestesy when he says he is going to attempt to kill him.

Kerestesy was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock at 9:10 a.m. on November 23.

Unable to post $25,000.00 (10%) monetary bail, he was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

The additional charges stemming from the November 12 incident were then filed through Magisterial District Judge Jacqueline J. Mizerock’s office on November 25.
