Local Pair Pick Up First Place Finishes in Sinnemahone Gravel Race

Cameron County hosted the Sinnemahone Gravel Race Saturday.

Nearly 80 competitors started and finished the races. Participants came from New York, Ohio, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. Riders had their choice of a 14 mile course, 26 or 55 miles.

The first place male finisher in the 14 mile course Ian Pavelek from Grove City, PA with a finishing time of 47.59. The first place female in the race was Melissa McCracken from Warren, PA. She finished in 1:00:22.

The first place male finisher in the 26 mile course was Brett McCracken from Clearfield, PA. McCracken finished in 1:59:54. The first place female was Jean Sheehan from Fairport, NY.

Taking home first place honors in the 55 mile race was Curtis Smith from DuBois, PA riding the course is 3:07:17. This is the second year in a row that Smith finished first. He bettered his time by 3 minutes. The top female finisher was Toni Flament from Emporium, PA. Flament finished the race in 4:28:43.

The race grew by 10% according to organizers. Complete results can be found online at www.Sinnemahone.org.

The final leg of the triple crown is Saturday October 15. Registration is open till October 14. Contact the Cameron County Chamber of Commerce office for information.
