Local Woman Accused of Strangling, Assaulting Man in Front of 4-Year-Old Child

REYNOLDSVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – A local woman is facing a felony assault charge after police say she assaulted and choked a man in front of a 4-year-old child in Reynoldsville Borough.

According to court documents, the Reynoldsville Borough Police Department filed the following criminal charges against 32-year-old Amy Elizabeth Sanchez in Magisterial District Judge Inzana’s office on Thursday, November 17:

– Strangulation – Applying Pressure to Throat or Neck, Felony 2
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2

According to a criminal complaint, police received a call from a known victim who reported that Amy Sanchez had assaulted him on November 16, around 1:30 p.m., at a residence in Reynoldsville Borough, Jefferson County.

The victim told police that he had arrived home after a PFA hearing at 1:00 p.m. When he arrived, Sanchez stormed out of the house, saying, “I know you were at the courthouse. What were you doing? Why were you there?”

Sanchez then allegedly shoved the victim against a vehicle, as the victim said he did not have to tell her why he was at the courthouse. The victim walked into the house and told Sanchez that he was getting his dogs. He then called for the dogs, but they didn’t come out. At that point, the victim walked towards the stairs before Sanchez allegedly shoved him against the wall and reached for his car keys, the complaint states.

The victim then broke free and went upstairs to the living room to find that the dogs were still caged. Sanchez then shoved the victim against the TV stand and grabbed him by the neck with two hands, leaving marks, the complaint indicates.

Sanchez then stated, “Did you take my kids? Did you mess up my life?”

The victim responded by telling Sanchez that he did not have to answer her. He then broke free again and left through the kitchen door, leaving the dogs behind, the complaint notes.

Sanchez followed the victim out the door and allegedly shoved him as the victim continued to his truck and left, the complaint states.

According to the complaint, Sanchez assaulted the victim in front of a 4-year-old child who was crying and telling her to stop.

Sanchez was arraigned at 11:52 a.m. on November 17, in front of Judge Inzana.

She is currently free on $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday, November 30, at 9:45 a.m. with Judge Inzana presiding.
