Local Woman Arrested After Allegedly Stealing 972 Boxes of Girl Scout Cookies

19620_10153042620583855_1178757953008248627_n[1]PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney Police Department is investigating the theft of a large amount of Girl Scout cookies in Punxsutawney Borough, Jefferson County.

Police say on February 23, 2015 Christina M. Pierce of Falls Creek obtained 972 boxes of cookies from the Girl Scouts of America, valued at $3,888.00.

Pierce allegedly failed to make payment for the cookies she obtained at the First United Methodist Church in Punxsutawney.

Police say several attempts were made by the Girl Scouts of America to obtain the funds from Pierce.

According to police, felony charges have been filed for theft by failure to make required disposition of funds and receiving stolen property.

Pierce was arrested Sunday November 8, 2015.
