Lois Catherine Smith, age 98, of DuBois, PA died Monday, November 30, 2020, at the DuBois Village.
Born on July 29, 1922, in Falls Creek, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dallas C. and Sarah C. (Martin) Love.
On June 1, 1946, she married Max S. Smith. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2005.
Cassie attended Grove City College for 2 years then transferred to the University of Pittsburgh where she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing.
She assisted her late husband in managing the Smith’s Family Grocery Store in Falls Creek and worked for many years as a registered nurse retiring from the DuBois Area School District.
She was an avid bridge and card player and enjoyed watching sports. She enjoyed golfing at both Treasure Lake and the DuBois Country Club and was a volunteer for the DuBois Regional Medical Center. Above all, Cassie enjoyed entertaining friends and family.
She is survived by 1 daughter (Kay Yeager of DuBois, PA), 1 grandson (Ben Yeager & his wife Kelly of Hollidaysburg, PA) and 3 great grandchildren (Kaylyn, Frank and Max Yeager).
She was preceded in death by 1 brother (James Love).
Due to our current circumstances, there will be no public visitation and a private funeral will be held.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the DuBois Village Personal Care, 282 South 8th Street, DuBois, PA in honor of their excellent care and kindness.
