Lois E. Pence

Lois E. Pence, 89, of Ringgold, died Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Mulberry Square.

She was born June 6, 1933, in Mayport, a daughter of the late Katherine S. (Gruver) and Oren C. Shirey.

On July 5, 1951, she married Richard G. Pence, who preceded her in death on October 9, 2013.

She was a member of the Ringgold United Methodist Church. She participated in many church activities and cleaned and maintained the church for many years.

Lois enjoyed walking, cooking, and baking. She was a very kind and compassionate woman and was loving to everyone she met. She welcomed newcomers to the Ringgold area with a gift. She was known as “Tiny” to her family.

She was a member of the Ringgold Area Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society.
Surviving relatives include five daughters, Sandra Lingenfelter of Punxsutawney, Barbara Miller and husband Douglas of Treasure Lake, Karen Dubensky and husband Ted of Punxsutawney, Lori Cieleski of Punxsutawney, and Tricia Pence of Rossiter; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by, stepfather Ernie Coleman, brother Carl M. Shirey, sister Ruby A. Dinger, and son-in-law Randy Lingenfelter.

Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m., on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2022, at the Ringgold United Methodist Church with Pastor Ronald Cox officiating.

Interment will be in Ringgold Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mrs. Pence, to the Ringgold United Methodist Church, 4027 Route 536, Ringgold, PA 15770.
