Lois Louise (Barnett) Carrier

Lois Louise (Barnett) Carrier, 94, of Roseville, PA, passed away Monday, May 24, 2021, at Brookside Senior Living, into the arms of her Lord.

She was born December 10, 1926, in Stanton, PA, to the late Merle B. and Laura B. (Cathcart) Barnett.

She attended Brookville High School with the class of 1944. She was a longtime member of the Roseville Independent Chapel and the Roseville Grange. She married Carl R. Carrier on April 26, 1947, and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1997.

In addition to being a mother and working on the family farm, she was employed at several places through the years, including Hupt Market, Sylvania in the payroll department, Brookville Glove Factory, and Crooks Clothing Store, in their Brookville location.

Surviving are two daughters, Janice M. (Fred) Hubauer of Roseville, PA, and Joyce A. (William) Reitz of Brookville, PA; one son in law, Mitchell Mahle of Clarion, PA; and one sister-in-law, Jean Barnett of Brookville, PA. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Tracy (Edward) Amon of Lebanon, PA, Fred Hubauer of DuBois, PA, Betsy (Eric) Humble of Sligo, PA, Michelle (James) Towner of Maroa, IL, Sherri (Kevin) Harle of Falls Creek, PA, Ashley (Daniel Sweeney) Reitz of Floyd, VA, and Lindsay Reitz of Charlotte, NC; nine great grandchildren, Samantha Rodriguez, Edward Amon, Jacob Amon, Coletin Towner, Mahleigh Towner, Sullivan Harle, Margo MacSweeney, Misha MacSweeney, and Finnoula MacSweeney; and one great-great grandchild, Olive Rodriguez.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie J. (Carrier) Mahle; seven siblings, Elmo Barnett Daugherty Arthurs, Lloyd Barnett, Dale Barnett, Clyde Barnett, Paul Barnett, Gerald Barnett, and Roy Barnett.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, May 28, 2021, at the Roseville Independent Chapel, 3598 Route 322, Brookville, PA, 15825, from 12pm to 2pm. A funeral service will take place immediately following the viewing, beginning at 2pm and officiated by Pastor Jim Fillhart. Interment will take place at St. John’s (Windy Hill) Cemetery, Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., PA, overlooking her childhood home.
