Lois M. Caldwell

Caldwell, Lois M.Lois M. Caldwell, 89, a guest at Brookside Senior Living in Broookville, formerly of Hazen, returned to her soul mate of over 65 years, Ernest Caldwell, on Saturday, February 21, 2015.

Born March 15, 1925 in Punxsutawney, Lois was the daughter of Wayne Evans and Eva Jane Burkett.

She was married to Ernest R. Caldwell, who preceded her in death on November 23, 2010.

Lois worked as a beautician and owner and operator of Lois’s Salon of Beauty in Hazen, Pa.

She was a member of the Hazen United Methodist Church and The Order of the Eastern Star #320 of Brookville, Pa.

Lois and her sister Doris, known as the Evans Sisters, loved to sing country music. They recorded an album and performed at Fanfair in Nashville, TN.

She is survived by one daughter, Sherry Delio (Paul) of Brockway; one brother, Gerald Evans, of Punxsutawney; and one sister Doris Startzell, of Hazen, Pa. Lois is also survived by one granddaughter, Tara Lin Caldwell May (Michael), of Alexandria, Va.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by one son, Larry Caldwell; three brothers, Wayne, Milford, and Clyde Evans; and three sisters, Minnie Furman, Martha Brosius, and Alma Pifer.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McKinny Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville.

Services will be on Friday, February 27 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, the Rev. Don Henderson officiating.

Interment will be at Temple Cemetery in Warsaw Township, Jefferson County.

Memorials may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
