Louella Mae (Dinger) Roman

roman-louella-obit-photoLouella Mae (Dinger) Roman, age 89, of Brookville, PA, passed away on December 3, 2016, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, VA.

Louella was born on February 18, 1927 in Sunnyside, PA to the late Floyd and Grace (Boyer) Dinger. She graduated from Punxsutawney High School, class of 1945. She married the late George W. Roman on July 23, 1949 in Brookville, PA. Louella was a homemaker and mother.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Brookville, PA, serving on the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Roseville Homemaker Club. She prepared meals for the Brookville Senior Services Meals on Wheels program for over 10 years, and served on the WRC board for the Village at Laurelbrooke Landing for 2 years after she moved to the Village in 2002.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and walking (the later which she did faithfully despite rheumatoid arthritis, even until she was 89.)

Louella is survived by 3 children; John (and Linda) Roman of Anthem, AZ, Patricia Roman of Annandale, VA, and Cynthia (and David) Stair of Oakton, VA; 2 grandchildren; 1 brother; James (and Mary) Dinger of Punxsutawney, PA, and 1 sister; Betty Lou (and Bill) Martz of Ringgold, PA.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, December 8, 2016, from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, December 9, 2016, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 129 Graham Ave, Brookville, PA, 15825, beginning at 10:00am, and officiated by Father William Laska. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
