Louise Helen (Lovenduski) Rhoades

Louise Helen Rhoades, 89, of Melio Lane, Weedville, PA, died Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Penn highlands-Elk, after a short illness.

A daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Visneski) Lovenduski, she was born on May 21, 1931 in Force, PA. On July 21, 1962 she married James Rhoades, who predeceased her on July 27, 2005.

Along with her parents and her husband, Louise was preceded in death by: a son, James Rhoades; four brothers, Chester Kershenski, Vincent “Webb” Lovenduski, William “Zeke” Levenduski and John Lovenduski; and three sisters, Dolores Lovenduski, Barbara Dallasen and Theophila Benevich.

Louise is survived by: eight children, Karen Foster of DuBois, Therese Rosenfeld of Weedville, Christina Young of Byrnedale, Mary Jane Hayes of Weedville, Jill McCutcheon of Force, Jeff Rhoades of Wyoming, Christopher Rhoades of Weedville, and Daniel Rhoades of Kersey; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard Lovenduski of Force; and a sister, Evelyn Kentoski of Penfield.

Louise worked at Stackpole Carbon for a few years prior to her marriage. After her marriage, she enjoyed taking care of her family, travelling to religious sites, listening to Polka’s and saying the Rosary. Living all her life in Bennetts Valley, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Blue Army and had served the church as custodian for thirty seven years.

There will be no public visitation due to COVID-19 concerns.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA with Father Mark Mastrian as celebrant.

Interment will take place next to her husband in the Church Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials to the St. Joseph Church of Force and will be accepting online condolences at www.nedzafamilyfuneralhomes.com.

The Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield has been entrusted with final arrangements.
