Louise L. Snyder

Screen Shot 2016-03-10 at 7.36.38 AMLouise L. Snyder, age 85 of Brookville and formerly of Distant, passed away on Tuesday morning March 8, 2016 at the McKinley Healthcare Center in Brookville following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born April 22, 1930 in Distant, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Micheline Clemens and was a graduate of the New Bethlehem High School.

She married Jack J. Snyder on October 29, 1949. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1998.

Louise was a cook for the Mahoning Elementary School in Distant and was a demonstrator for Walmart, where she prepared and gave away free samples.

She was a member of the Oakland Church of God in Distant, the WCG of the church, PSEA and was active in the ladies auxiliary of the Distant Volunteer Fire Company.

Louise was an avid walker.

Survivors include two sons: Barry E. Snyder and his wife, Beth and Daniel J. Snyder and his wife, Wendy, all of New Bethlehem; Five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren: Barry D. Snyder and wife Keissy and their children, Meadow and Maizie Snyder; Brian S. Snyder and wife Meredith and their children, Jack R., Kayla, Levi, MacKenzie and Nash Snyder; Brandi J. Snyder, Cortney Ortz and husband Chad and their children, Aiden and Avery Ortz and Graham Snyder and Britany Hoover and their son, Liam Snyder.
Louise is also survived by a sister, Millie Dawson of New Bethlehem and an aunt, Levia Cramer of Sligo.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandson, Cory Jack Snyder; a sister, Mona D. Clemens Henry and three brothers, Ernest Clemens, Richard Clemens and Jerry L. Clemens.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service chapel, 233 Penn St., New Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, March 11, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Jimmy Swogger, Pastor of the Oakland Church of God, officiating over the service.

Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery at Distant, Mahoning Township, Armstrong County.
