Louise M. Means

Louise M. Means, 97, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Christ the King Manor in DuBois.

A daughter of the late Fannie (Smith) and John Mohney, she was born in the Grange area on April 29, 1923.

On November 7, 1942, she married John J. Means. They spent fifty-seven years together until his death on August 6, 2000.

Louise was the oldest member of the Valier United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid gardener and a member of the Punxsutawney Garden Club for over forty years. Louise was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by five children, Louise Cristofor and husband David of Reynoldsville, Joyce Falger and husband Bill of Clearfield, John “Jake” Means Jr. and wife Kim of Brookville and Melinda Carpin and husband Dennis of DuBois and William B. Means and wife Brenda of Punxsutawney; a sister, Edith Justice of Punxsutawney; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Elmer, Emery, Ferman, Floyd, Guy, and Clyde Mohney.

A memorial service for Louise will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in Valier Cemetery.
