Louise Marie Britton

Louise Marie Britton age 82 a resident at the Parkside Complex in Brockway, PA; died on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Highland View Health Care Center in Brockway.

Born in Crenshaw on May 8, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Lucy Ferraccio Guy Caruso. She was married to James L. Britton on February 14, 1953 and he preceded her in death on June 17, 2014.

Retired, Louise had been employed as a packer at Brockway Glass. She was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway. She also was a member of the Rosary Society and for many years served on the Funeral Brunch Team. Louise also served as a volunteer at both the St. Vincent De Paul Society Thrift shop and at Highland View. She also volunteered her time at the church’s Comfort and Care Program, making and delivering meals to shut ins. Serving others was always a part of her daily life. Louise enjoyed reading and visiting with her friends at The Café. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters: Cindy (Greg) Castiglione and Pat Stormer both of Brockway; one son: James (Denise) Britton of Harrisburg, PA; one brother: Thomas (Beverly) Caruso also of Brockway; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband she is also preceded in death by a sister Delores Donahue, a grandson Gregory M. Castiglione and a granddaughter Emily Castiglione.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, February 4 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 5 at 9:30 AM at St. Tobias with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding.

Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery. A Vigil Service will be held Thursday evening at 8:45 PM at the funeral home.
