Mable Sarah (Hetrick) Cassatt

obituary-photo-cassattMable Sarah (Hetrick) Cassatt, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at the Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital.

She was currently residing at Laurelbrooke Landing in Brookville, Pa., and formerly of Lawrence Park, Erie, Pa.

She was born on May 20, 1926 in New Bethlehem, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Webster and Ada (Mohney) Hetrick.

On February 4, 1944, she married D. Eugene Cassatt; Eugene precedes her in passing.

She worked many places including the Sylvania plant in Brookville, Pa.

Mable was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ohl, Pa., where she was a past secretary for the Cemetery Association; she also played the piano for services. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Shiloh Chapter 153 of North East, Pa., where she was a lifetime member and a past Worthy Matron.

She also worked as a caregiver for Clarion Hospice out of Knox, Pa.

She was full of creativity and she was able to use those skills as a professional seamstress, in playing of the piano, singing, and painting in all mediums in which she won amateur awards.

More than anything else, she loved being able to spend time with her family.

Mable is survived by one son; Terry (Linda) Cassatt of Erie, Pa.; two daughters; Lois (Arthur) Quinn of West Mifflin, Pa.; Mary Jane (William) Campbell of Erie, Pa.; two granddaughters; Christine (Thomas) Salva of Erie, Pa.; Stephanie (Jeremy) Crowell of Ooltewah, Tenn.; two grandsons; Sean (Lisa) Campbell of McMurry, Pa.; David Cassatt of Erie, Pa.; and two great-grandchildren; Zachary and Katelyn Salva.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 20, 2016, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m., at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, Pa. 15825.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11 a.m. and officiated by the Rev. Jim Steingass.

Interment will take place at the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Beaver Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Clarion Forest VNA Hospice, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion, Pa. 16214.
