She said Batley then took her cell phone and tried to lock himself in another room. She reported that when she was attempting to get her phone back, Batley smashed her left pinky finger in a door, causing it to swell and bruise. She stated that when she asked Batley for her phone again, he shoved her onto a couch and began choking her, which impeded her ability to breathe. At this time, she scratched the left side of his lower lip while trying to get him off of her. She related that Batley then left the residence in his vehicle, according to the complaint.

Trooper Fulmer also interviewed Batley on Sunday, February 10. He said he then smacked her hand away from him and took her phone to another room, and the known female followed him and tried to push through the door to get the phone.
