Man Accused of Stabbing Victim Multiple Times in Burnside Township Apprehended

BURNSIDE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A man who allegedly stabbed a victim multiple times at a residence in Burnside Township on Monday evening was apprehended yesterday.

Punxsutawney-based State Police received a report of an aggravated assault that occurred sometime between 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8, and 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, at a residence on Patchin Highway, in Burnside Township, Clearfield County.

Through the investigation, it was discovered that 26-year-old Lonnie Schmoke, of Cherry Tree, stabbed a 63-year-old Cherry Tree man numerous times and caused two of his ribs to break.

Schmoke had fled the scene prior to PSP arrival. An arrest warrant was obtained.

Police say Schmoke was apprehended on Thursday, April 11, in Clearfield County.
