Man Arrested for Assaulting Two Victims With Knife in McCalmont Township

MCCALMONT TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a man was arrested for allegedly assaulting two victims with a knife in McCalmont Township on Monday evening.

Around 9:25 p.m. on August 9, Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to a report of a man attempting to cut two victims with a knife at a location on Main Street in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County.

Police say the suspect, identified as a 41-year-old male from Paragould, Arkansas, assaulted a known 32-year-old female victim from Anita and a known 50-year-old female victim from Anita.

According to police, one victim reported a minor cut on her right middle finger and the other victim reported a superficial cut on her left palm/wrist.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail awaiting arraignment.

The name of the suspect was not released.
