RIDGWAY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A New York man was killed after he crashed his motorcycle into the back of a vehicle in Ridgway Township on Saturday evening.
According to State Police in Ridgway, the crash took place at 5:14 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, on State Route 219 in Ridgway Township, Elk County.
Police say 79-year-old David C. Curran, of West Falls, NY, failed to stop his 2015 Harley-Davidson Tri Glide Ultra and rear-ended a 2011 Ford Fusion operated by 78-year-old Dennis G. Cole, of Berwick, which was stopped while waiting to make a left turn.
Curran was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was wearing a helmet.
Cole and a passenger—76-year-old Carol A. Klinger, of Berwick—were using a seat belt and were not injured.
Police were assisted on scene by Ridgway Ambulance, Ridgway Fire Department, and the Elk County Coroner’s office.
