Man Ejected from Vehicle in Rollover Crash on Rt. 219; Flown to UPMC Altoona

1812d1140135579-stat-medevac-stat1[1]WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – DuBois-based State Police say a one-vehicle accident occurred early yesterday morning on State Route 219, in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, around 12:40 a.m., 58-year-old Roy J. Mack, of Benezette, was traveling on Route 219, and for unknown reasons, his 2001 Toyota Tacoma traveled off the right side of the roadway for approximately 400 feet prior to striking a guide rail and overturning an unknown number of times.

Mack was not using a seat belt and was ejected from the pickup. He suffered suspected serious injuries.

He was transported a short distance from the scene where he was then flown to UPMC Hospital in Altoona.

Falls Creek fire Department, Brockway Ambulance, DuSan Ambulance, and Zimmerman Towing assisted at the scene.

Further investigation will continue, according to police.
