Man Hospitalized After Vehicle Dragged Underneath Tractor-Trailer in I-80 Crash

SANDY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police in DuBois released the details of a two-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 80 in Clearfield County.

According to a release issued by PSP DuBois on Wednesday, November 15, the crash happened on Interstate 80 in Sandy Township, Clearfield County, around 10:00 a.m. on November 2.

Police say a 2011 Mazda 6 driven by 50-year-old Elliott L. Battle, of Allentown, drifted from the left lane of travel into the right laneor unknown reasons,

Battle’s vehicle then collided with a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer operated by 43-year-old Shannon S. Jamerson, of Warner Robins, GA, causing impact to both vehicles.

According to police, the damage to the front of the Battle’s vehicle suggest that it was partially under the tractor-trailer and dragged along the roadway for a short distance.

Battle’s vehicle ultimately spun out along the roadway, partially blocking both lanes of eastbound travel.

Battle was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois by Dusan EMS for suspected minor injuries.

Jamerson was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Police were assisted on scene by DuBois Fire Department Station 75 and Bricen Towing & Recovery.

According to police, Battle was charged with a traffic violation.
