Man Injured in One-Vehicle Crash on I-80

state_policeBROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – According to DuBois-based State Police, a one-vehicle accident occurred around 2:05 p.m. on December 26, in Brookville Borough, Jefferson County.

Police say the crash occurred as Kushal B. Andipakula, 27, of Kent, OH, was traveling in the eastbound right lane on I-80, crossing the North Fork Bridge.

Andipakula fell asleep and swerved to the right where the front of the 2014 Volkswagen Jetta struck the cement bridge railing along the south berm of the roadway.

The vehicle rotated in a clockwise direction while traveling east on the roadway for 160 feet.

The vehicle came to rest on the bridge, on the roadway, facing south-west.

Andipakula sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was transported to Brookville Hospital by Brookville EMS.

24-year-old Sasrusha Vasireddy was a passenger in Andipakula’s vehicle. She was not injured in the accident.

Andipakula was cited for a traffic violation.

PSP DuBois were assisted at the scene by the Brookville VFD.
