According to police, around 8:51 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 33-year-old Samuel L. Clutter, of Cherry Tree, was operating a 2008 Mitsubishi GT, traveling southbound on Burnside McGee Highway (U.S. 219).
Police say Clutter was traveling along a curved section of U.S. 219 when he lost control of his vehicle, then crashed into the guardrail before going over the embankment.
The vehicle traveled approximately 135 feet off of the roadway before coming to final rest on the east side of the road facing to the south.
Clutter was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Scott’s Auto Towing & Repair.
