Margaret Ann Bush

Margaret Ann Bush, 91, of Punxsutawney, passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, January 2, 2022.

She was born in Perry Township, Jefferson County on March 22, 1930, a daughter of the late Frederick W. Park and Florence Leila (Rodgers) Park.

Margaret was first married to Coy Smith, Jr. who preceded her in death in 1965.

In August 1971 she married Robert Cloy Bush. They enjoyed fifty years together and looked after one another until her death. He survives and resides in Punxsutawney.

She attended the Grange Church of God for many years.

Margaret worked at various businesses in Punxsutawney over the years including the Hourglass Cleaners (Paris Cleaners).

At home, she was a really good cook and baker for her family.

She is remembered as being “A Good Person” by her husband, she was loving and kind and never asked for anything in return.

She enjoyed the simple things in life and always remained young at heart.

She was like a second mother to her grandson David, while his mother worked when he was growing up.

In addition to her husband Bob, she is survived by three daughters, Rita Parker and husband Brad of Punxsutawney, Linda Brush of Brookville and partner Tom Steffan of Sheffield, and Cheryl Burns and husband Greg of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, David Smith and Carrie Washburn of Pittsburgh, Frank Brush of Brookville, Kerry Brush of Pittsburgh, and Craig Brush of Brookville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Richard Lee Park and William Park, four sisters, Beatrice R. Evans, Jane Eliza Gniewek, Edith Bowers, infant sister Leonore “Laura”Bell Park, and infant brother Frederick Joseph Park.

Margaret was the last member of her immediate family.

A private funeral service will be held.

Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
